I practice and teach yoga in Mankato, Minnesota. I’ve been practicing yoga regularly since about 2001, mostly at Sun Moon Yoga Studios in Mankato. I completed my 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher training in June 2018 at Sun Moon.
My preferred practice includes vinyasa flow, power/strength, and Ashtanga. I’ve been practicing Ashtanga since about 2003 and that is where my heart is.
My teaching philosophy: I respect you. We may be in the same room, but your practice is between you and your mat. No one compares to you, and you compare to no one.
This blog is about yoga and everything that goes along with that: physical, mental, and emotional health. Every day brings challenges, and I’m open to sharing those challenges with you and how I face them.
I teach sunrise yoga at 6 a.m. Tuesdays/Thursdays at Fitness for 10 in Mankato. I’m also available for private teaching.
In my day job, I’m an assistant professor of Mass Media at Minnesota State University, Mankato. I also write and publish creative nonfiction. You can find my writing blog at www.rachaelhanel.me.
